NBA Jam Van makes first-ever overseas tour to China

NBA Jam Van, the NBA's premiere interactive touring program, makes its first ever overseas tour to China in Shanghai on Thursday.

The 8,175km journey will last over two months, cover 11 Chinese cities, including three municipalities and six provinces in its quest to bring the NBA experience to fans all over China.

The Chinese edition of the NBA Jam Van is a tailor-made, 16-meter truck which transforms into 600 square meters of free basketball activities allowing fans of all ages to play like the pros.

In addition to jamming slam dunks and sinking three-pointers ontwo basketball areas with three different size baskets, fans can participate in a wide array of interactive off-court activities, including video games, player measure-up areas and other displays,and a giant video wall featuring the NBA action and highlights.

"NBA Jam Van allows us to bring an authentic NBA interactive experience to many parts of China we have never reached before," said Mark Fischer, Managing Director of NBA China.

"This traveling event will enable us to touch hundreds of thousands of fans via the fun and exciting Jam Van elements. With the continued support of our partners in this event, we look forward to expanding the reach of the NBA Jam Van in China even further in coming years." he added.

The touring NBA Jam Van festival will leave Shanghai on Sunday,and visit Nanjing (August 4-7), Hangzhou (August 11-14), Fuzhou (August 18-21), Guangzhou (August 25-28), Dongguan (August 31), Shenzhen (September 3-4), Chongqing (September 9-11), Chengdu (September 16-18), Wuhan (September 23-25) and Beijing (September 29-October 2).
