Ljungberg pens new Arsenal deal

Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg has signed an extension to his contract with the Gunners which will keep him at the Premiership side until 2009, the club's midfielder revealed on Thursday.

"I've been at Arsenal for nearly seven years now and I'm so happy to have signed a new contract," the Sweden international told the club's website.

Ljungberg has won two Premiership titles and three FA Cups since moving to Highbury from Swedish outfit Halmstads in 1998.

He says he's hungry for more success.

"I'm looking forward to challenging for more trophies over the forthcoming years and also the propsect of playing in our new stadium in 2006."
