mission
| Speaking exclusively to China Daily, major general of the PLA's General
Political Department Chang Shengrong said this year's Army Day provides an
opportunity to reflect on the force's humanitarian work,
This year alone, nearly 150,000 military personnel have been mobilized for
rescues and relief work, he said.
During the flooding season, PLA soldiers were involved in search, rescue and
rebuilding work in stricken areas across the country.
The PLA's participation in rescue and disaster relief work is an important

figures of PLA soldiers," said Jiang Xuzhong, a local resident from East China's
Jiangsu Province.
