CBA punish team for Stankovic Cup fighting

Players, including team captain Li Nan and three centers Tang Zhengdong, Yi Jianlian, and Mo Ko were given a serious warning and fined 20,000 Yuan (US$2,468.32) each for their part in the fighting.

Players Du Feng, Zhu Fangyu, Wang Shipeng, Bian Qiang and Wang Bo were given a warning for chasing Puerto Rico players, with each of them having to pay 10,000 Yuan. Zhang Jingsong, Lv Xiaoming, and Zhang Yunsong have to pay 2,000 Yuan for their part in the melee.

The Puerto Rico players cover their heads while making their way to the locker room after their game against China in the Stankovic Cup was abandoned due to a mass brawl in the last quarter. China were announced winners 91-80. [CD]

The punishment was also extended to the team's Chinese administrators, Adijiang and Xue Yunfei. Both of them received a stern warning and were fined20,000 Yuan each for inadequate management.

All together, the fines of the 16 on the list totaled a CBA record 176,000 Yuan.
