Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei will visit Japan on the next phase of
the fourth round six-party talks on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, said Chinese
Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan in Beijing Tuesday.
Wu Dawei, also Chinese delegation head to the fourth round of six-party
talks, will visit Japan from Tuesday through Friday, said Kong.
During this visit, Wu will carry on consultations with Japan's Deputy
Minister for Foreign Affairs Nishida Tsuneo about Sino-Japanese relations and
other issues of common concern, said Kong.
Wu will also talk with Sasae Kenichiro, Japan's chief negotiator to the
six-party talks, on the next stage of the fourth round of six-party talks,
according to Kong.
The fourth round of six-party talks entered recess on Aug. 7 after 13-day
discussions. The six countries -- China, the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan -- agreed to
resume the talks in the week of Aug. 29.
