Symposium on aid in population, development set for October

A seminar on international aid in population and development will be held in Suzhou, one of the mostpopular tourist destinations in east China's Jiangsu Province, from Oct.26-28.

Representatives from some 30 countries will attend the symposium sponsored by the State Family Planning Commission of China, the Jiangsu provincial government and Suzhou, organizers say.

During the symposium, participants will discuss topics ranging from poverty eradication, social development and public service, population development, reproductive health and birth control, prevention and treatment of AIDS, promotion of human rights and gender equality, to China case studies.
