Prolific Bulgarian striker Zoran Jankovic added to his tally for the season with a 60th minute penalty and Hu Zhaojun sealed the win and the championship with a second eight minutes later.

The win gives Shide an eight-point advantage with only two games remaining and the north-easterners recaptured the trophy for the first time since 2002. Dalian have led the 14-team strong table since the beginning of the campaign and fully deserve the prize and the spot in next season’s AFC Champions League.

Shanghai Shenhua in second managed to win at Shenyang Ginde but the 2003 champions simply ran out of games. Shanghai won 2-1 thanks to a Xie Hui brace.
