South Korea coach Kim Chol compared the Chinese men's soccer team to a bag of
sand on Friday, vowing to claim the most coveted title at the East Asian Games.
"As an individual, Chinese players are technically better than others," said
Kim. "As a team, it's not the case."
"Chinese footballers are freewheeling and they don't listen to their coaches.
Their attitude will work in favor of us. We hope tobe successful in Macao," said
the coach.
China is bundled with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,Chinese Hong
Kong and Chinese Macao in Group B, with South Korea pitted against Japan and
Chinese Taipei in Group A. The top two finishers from each group qualify for the
semis.
While the Chinese team comprises pro players, the South Korean squad consists
of university students.
