China continues domination at EAG

14-year-old Wang Qun defeated her teammate Luo Nan, the bronze
winner at national games, in 2:26.05 to add a second gold to her 100m
breaststoke title, by which she beat the Athens Olympic gold medallist Luo
Xuejuan, who was troubled by illness here.
"It's a big surprise to have
two golds by winning the big names swimmers. I think it's too early to consider
my performance in 2008 Olympics. I need most now is go on my training. The
results are only a start for my swimming career and I would get myself
reinforced by further experience," said Wang.
Backstroke specialist
Ouyang Kunpeng won men's 100m backstroke in 1:54.41, which is new games record,
to collect all three backstroke titles here.
"I just want to take a
vacation. I felt tired after the national games and the EAG," said the gold
medalist.
The women's 4x100m free relay gold also went to Chinese
foursome in new games record of 3:40.79.
Turkey Universiade champion Aya
Terakawa shared a gold with Chinese Gao Chang in a tied 1:01.70 in women's 100m
backstroke to give Japan the only gold the night. Gao was the silver medallist
in women 50 backstroke in Montreal.
Terakawa was also the
200m backstroke gold medallist here.
