Schwarzenegger discusses energy in China (AP) Updated: 2005-11-15 20:15
The trade mission comes just days after Schwarzenegger's "year of reform"
special election debacle. He called the Nov. 8 election to cap state spending,
redraw legislative districts, restrict the use of union dues and change teacher
tenure rules, but voters rejected all four of his propositions.
First lady Maria Shriver kept her own schedule, touring the Maples Women's
Psychological Counseling Center, which offers aid to victims of domestic abuse
in Beijing.
"I wanted to learn about the struggles of the women in
China and the struggle about starting a center like this," Shriver told
reporters after her visit.
