China's teenager Cheng Fei won gold in the women's vault, and Xiao Qin took
the men's pommel horse title at the world gymnastcis championships.

China has enjoyed a good start to individual disciplines at the world
gymnastic
s championships when Cheng Fei won the gold in the women's
vault and Xiao Qin took the men's pommel horse title.
The 17-year-old Cheng scored a combined total of 9.656 points to ease to gold
ahead of Uzbekistan veteran Oxana Chusovitina and American Alicia Sacramone.
Xiao outshone Romania's Ioan Silviu and Japan's Takehiro Kashima with an
impressive 9.850 on the pommel horse.

The championships conclude on Sunday with the men's vault, parallel bars and
