World Bank to fund highway projects in SW China city (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-01-10 13:56
The World Bank will provide a loan of 100 million US dollars for rural
highway projects in Guiyang city, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province,
in the coming five years.
The funds will be used to build 500 of the 940 kilometers of highways Guiyang
city has planned to build in rural areas in the five years to come, local
government said. The world bank loans will also be used to build an urban
expressway and 10 passenger and cargo transportation stations in the city's
rural areas.
The city government will provide a supporting fund of 800 million yuan to
build the remain highway projects.
