SOEs to reform by learning foreign experience
State-owned enterprises in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province would carry out reforms by learning experience from and extending cooperation with foreign corporations, said Wang Limin, vice governor of the province. Speaking Monday at the cooperation and communication conference between the provincial state enterprises and US General Electric ( GE), Wang noted that it was necessary and important to cooperate with and learn from foreign giants like GE, so as to reform the provincial state-owned enterprises. "On one hand, we should carry out reform of state enterprises, bringing their potentials into play through learning and introducing in advanced management experience and modern technologies in order to revitalize this China's old industrial base; on the other hand, we hope to cooperate with international giants like GE to incorporate some high grade products into the world market." he said. Liu Bo, general manager of GE's China branch, introduced the history and development orientation of the corporation. He said that GE would be interested in the cooperation with Heilongjiang- based enterprises in power system, industrial system and so on. Liu hoped that the conference would contribute to the substantial and effective collaboration between GE and Heilongjiang's state-owned enterprises. The conference was welcomed by local enterprises, said Wang, and some prepared to further discuss with GE on cooperation details right after the conference. |
