US$500-million project to improve water quality
Tap water is expected to become potable in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, by 2008, reports Shenzhen Special Zone Daily. The municipal government plans to invest 4.3 billion yuan (US$518 million) in water-purification projects this year to provide residents with high-quality drinking water. Starting from June this year, drinkable tap water will be available in some parts of the city. |
