Replacement gambler loses money, pays fine

A gambler asked police to get back the money he was cheated of by his gambling companions on Sunday, but was fined instead, reports Yangtze Evening News.

While Lin was watching four gamblers playing cards at a small restaurant in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, one of them asked Lin to sit in for him and promised to reimburse any loss.

However, after Lin lost 2,200 yuan (US$270) in the game, all his fellow gamblers vanished.
