Vendors use poisonous liquid to shave poultry Poultry vendors in Jinjiang of Fujian Province are using poisonous asphalt and resin liquor - just for the sake of convenience - to epilate ducks and geese, reports Quanzhou Evening News. The liquid, which vendors tell buyers is "red sugar liquor," helps them handle 30 ducks and geese everyday. Experts say the two substances, containing lead and benzene, are detrimental to the human brain and the neural system. The authorities have vowed to crack down on the malpractice and urged consumers to be alert. |
