One-legged man tours Asia on bicycle

A one-legged man from Sichuan Province who has toured 47 countries and regions in Asia on a bicycle arrived in Dalian, Liaoning Province, on Tuesday after going through 47 bicycles, Liaoshen Evening News reports.

Deng Jinwei, 47, who broke his leg in a rock-climbing accident when he was 19, kicked off his "Asian tour" in September 1996 to do his bit for the nation's bid for Olympic Games - and covered 178,000 kilometres.

In the next eight years, he underwent a lot of hardships and almost lost his life to bandits, but never gave up.

I am eager to go home to reunite with my family, Deng said.
