Residents encouraged to care for elderly, orphans

Residents in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, are encouraged to do volunteer work on a scale not seen before in the city, reports Chutian Jinbao Newspaper.

Volunteers should be healthy adults who possess a high school or above degree, and their task is mainly helping take care of childless elderly people, orphans and disabled residents in poverty-stricken families.

According to the statistics, there are 72 welfare houses in Wuhan's urban areas and another 115 in the suburbs.
