Promotion of the Key Projects of Urban Development kicks off May 24 in Beijing. Liu Zhi, vice director of Development and Planning Committee of Beijing Municipal Government, said the capital city pledges to enhance government efficiency and raise more funds from the market in urban infrastructure construction in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics Games. The city's districts of Xuanwu and Tongzhou outlined their development goals in a bid to woo more investments in urban transportation, waste water disposal and other areas.
