Female killer caught after nine years at large

Zhang Bo, a 28-year-old woman who killed a man with knife in 1995 and has been at large since then, was found by the police on July 3 as she was giving birth to a child in a hospital even though she had plastic surgery for her face, www.nen.com.cn reports.

Zhang killed Liu Yan, an assumed name, with the knife she used for cutting meat when she quarreled with Liu. Then she disappeared.

After careful investigation, local police were told that Zhang was in the Harbin Railway Hospital waiting to give birth to a child. Although the woman in the hospital did not look like Zhang, Zhang's parents and relatives were all there taking care of the woman.

So the police had a separate talk with the woman and the relatives. Finally, the woman admitted that she was Zhang Bo and had gone to South China where she had had plastic surgery to avoid arrest.
