Ginseng bears fruit after years soaking in wine No one has seen ginseng continue to grow and bear fruit after being dipped in wine for years, but it does happen, Xinhua New Agency reports. Li Cizhen, from Nan'an of East China's Fujian Province, got the ginseng in the Spring Festival 1999 from her daughter. She dipped it into rice wine, which is said to be a way to treat diseases, especially good for women. She was surprised to find that a green bud had grown out of the ginseng this April when she used the wine, and two months later, it had blossomed out and yielded fruit. Botanist said it's hard to interpret the reason. |
