Watermelon gala held in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, is now holding a watermelon gala, with various types of watermelons from all over the world, www.Southcn.com reports.

Guangzhou, located in the sub-tropical area, boasts of being the home of many different types of fruit. The summer is the best season to demonstrate the city's charm as fruit kingdom.

From local types to Zhejiang origin watermelons, from Central China's Henan Province origin to those imported from Southeast Asia's Thailand, all are priced between 0.6 yuan (US$7 cents) and one yuan (US$12 cents).
