Woman whacks attacker with his mobile phone

A quick-thinking Beijing woman used her attacker's own mobile phone to save herself from a mugging.

The woman , surnamed Lin, was leaving an ATM after withdrawing money when a man approached and threatened her with a knife.

Pretending to be in fear of her life, Lin told the robber she could give him more money but needed to call her friend to get it. The robber handed over his mobile and, while a passing bus drowned out her conversation, Lin explained to her friend what was happening.

Five minutes later, the police arrived and seized the robber, the Beijing News reports.
