Chinese delegations to join the 4th East Asian Games

Chairman of the Board of Directors of MEAGOC Manuel Silvério participated in the 24th general assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Guangzhou and received a welcome and farewell dinner by Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games Organising Committee and also by Liu Peng, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and Director of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC). During the conference, Liu Peng confirmed that China would send a 600-strong delegation to Macau, led by the Vice Minister of GASC, Duan Shijie. Moreover, many cities and Games organising committees in China would also send their delegations to Macau to hold promotional activities during the 4th East Asian Games.

Manuel Silvério explained that, as well as the 600-strong sports delegation for the Games, a memorandum signed in Beijing said a further 200 staff and performers would attend from the Chinese Affairs office of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Olympic Games organizing committee. This would produce even more excitement and fun around the 4th East Asian Games.

It has also been announced that 2006 Doha Asian Games Organising Committee (DAGOC), Changchun City and 2007 Changchun Winter Asian Games Organising Committee (CWAGOC), 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee of Hong Kong and also Guangdong province and its Organizing Committee of Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games will all organise promotions and send delegations to the 4th East Asian Games. Moreover, the Committee of Science, Culture, Health and Sports of National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) has been invited to come to Macau to contribute to a cheerful 4th East Asian Games
