China's President Hu Jintao due in London
China's President Hu Jintao arrives in Britain Tuesday for a three-day visit to include trade talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair and dinner with the queen. Blair said Monday the talks would focus on economic relations, climate change, global security issues and international cooperation at the United Nations. Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who is accompanying Hu, said earlier that China would use the European visit to explain that it is a peacefully developing power and should not be subject to an arms ban. Hu will also visit Germany and Spain before heading to South Korea for a state visit ahead of the Nov. 18-19 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Busan, South Korea. |
