Qingdao, the site for sailing events of the 2008 Olympic Games, will get all facilities needed ready by June next year, local reports said on Monday.

"We will endeavor to make the Olympic sailing events a complete success," said Qingdao Mayor Xia Geng.

Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, started its construction on Olympic projects at the beginning of last year.

According to the municipal government, the Media Center, the Athletes' Village and a logistics center are near their completion, and the design scheme of the competition venue was just finalized in May and the construction work is soon to begin.
