China will further mobilize its technological power to help with economic development in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

An official from China's Ministry of Science and Technology said Monday at a national meeting on Tibet aid work.

Wu Zhongze says suitable technologies will be used to nurture industries in the region. The multi-way cooperation and research will focus on local agriculture and animal husbandry, pharmaceutical production and the usage of new energy sources.

During the session, over 70 aid programs have been signed with a total sum of 35 million yuan or 4.3 million US dollars.
