US scientists have designed some new men's briefs that may be comfortable, durable, stylish and able to save lives, Reuters reported Thursday. Printed on the waistband and in constant contact with the skin is an electronic biosensor, designed to measure blood pressure, heart rate and other vital signs. It can detect injury, measure blood alcohol levels and even alert to a potential stroke. The technology is part of shift from hospital-based treatment to home-based management of healthcare. US troops are likely the first recipients. |
