As Apple began selling the iPad Friday in Hong Kong, the price of smuggled iPads in the mainland will see a drop, Hong Kong media reported. Many Apple fans lined up before the opening at 10 am, and within only half an hour, some models were sold out. According to some mainland dealers who have been getting the devices from overseas, Hong Kong will be an important source of supplies of Apple products feeding the so-called "gray market", and prices may fall by as much as RMB1,000. |
