Shanghai will be the first city in China to see zero population growth, in 2015, according to a report Wednesday issued by the China Academy of Sciences. Beijing and Tianjin both will be second, in 2018. The last province to see population stabilization will be Guizhou, in 2029. The report also says China should achieve zero energy consumption growth in 2040 and zero environmental degradation growth in 2050. |
