Sleeping for 7 hours each night can help you stay healthy, according to new US research. For years, we have been told that 8 hours of sleep provides the best start to the day. But now experts have found that it is 7 hours that brings optimal health – and that more or less sleep may do us harm. A study of more than 30,000 adults found cardiovascular disease is twice as high among those sleeping less than 5 hours a day, compared with those getting 7 hours. Those who slept 9 hours or more also had a markedly increased risk.(See photo)

 

 

 

 

 

美国一项最新研究结果显示,每晚睡7小时利于健康。多年以来,我们一直认为"每天睡足8小时,精力充沛一整天"。然而专家发现,7小时才是黄金睡眠时间,睡多睡少都会有损健康。专家通过对3万名成年人进行调查发现,与每天睡足7小时的人相比,睡眠少于5小时的,心血管疾病发病率增加一倍。此外,睡9小时或以上的患病几率也显著增加。(见图)
