British pop-star Paul McCartney and Heather Mills
In divorces, while parents benefit in getting rid of their partners, it's always the child who suffers the brunt.
But, it was lovely to see estranged couple Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills having agreed to a temporary truce for their child's sake on Saturday, when they assembled at one place for their daughter Beatrice's birthday celebrations.
Even while the Mills and McCartney groups arrived separately with the ex Beatle carrying Bea, sources claim that during the party they made an attempt to put on a united front.
"Bea looked lovely and seemed to be having a wonderful time. If I did not know what had been going on in their marriage in the last few months, I would never have guessed," said one mother who took her son to the play centre.
"Bea was smiling and laughing just like any other child having a whale of a time on her birthday," she added.
The two-hour party, with about 15 guests was held at Clambers Play Centre in Hastings, East Sussex, which is near Sir Paul's home in Peasmarsh.
The invitees were a mixture of adults and children, which included Heather's sister and her most loyal ally Fiona, reports The Daily Mail.
"They came here this afternoon and appeared to have had a lovely time. All the guests took away yellow balloons and one of our party bags," the paper quoted a spokesman for the play centre, as saying.
The two groups also left separately at the end of the celebration.
In recent weeks the pair's divorce has become increasingly bitter, with allegations flying from Heather about Sir Paul's drunken and violent behavior during the four years of their marriage. (ANI)
