Zoe Saldana claims she thinks and dresses like a man and often wonders if she should have been born a guy.
Zoe Saldana thinks she should have been born a man.
The 'Avatar' actress believes the simple way she dresses and her strong personality are not attributes traditionally associated with women.
She said: "I have a very strong character and I like to be challenged. Men's clothing makes me feel empowered so I often wear a man's suit. Sometimes I think I should have been born a guy! I wear black a lot and I like solid colours. Like me, they're independent, bold and decisive."
Despite feeling comfortable in male company, the 31-year-old 'Star Trek' actress has called for more women to find work in the movie industry.
She told Elle magazine: "I've enjoyed working with Steven Spielberg and James Cameron, who always stay true to themselves and tell the kind of stories that you want to see in the movies. My job is very fulfilling and I'm always eager to learn, but I would like to work with more women in the industry. I don't think there are enough women out there.”
Zoe has previously spoken about how she credits Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Halle Berry for opening up more options to female actresses.
She said: "Before them, women were just sex pots or mothers. They were never the heroes who saved the day. They've enabled a generation of actresses to have a bigger variety of roles."
