Sir Elton John sends his husband an "anniversary card" every week.
The 'Rocket Man' hitmaker and his partner David Furnish - who he married four years ago after 12 years together - insist on sending one another a note every weekend, regardless of where they are in the world.
David said: "Elton and I write to each other every Saturday wherever we are in the world. We met on a Saturday, so it's like a weekly anniversary card. The note always sits on the side of the bed wherever I am."
The couple own several homes around the world but Elton always leaves their design and décor to David, and never sets foot in the properties until they are complete, with the Canadian filmmaker confident he knows his partner's tastes well enough to know what he will like.
David added to InStyle magazine: "Elton only sees properties when they're completed. He likes the surprise factor.
"He sees it as a way of motivating people. They work hard because they want him to be pleased.
"It's fun. We've been together long enough, so I know how to put a smile on his face. It just means you keep a close eye on it. Everything is considered, so that when he walks in the door, it's a victory."
