Beijing under attack in PLA air defense drill

The flak artillery units rapidly take their position during the military exercise in Jinan, capital city of East China’s Shandong province, Aug 3, 2010. A five-day air defense drill started in Jinan on August 3, involving a 100 aircraft of seven different models and 12,000 soldiers. The practice launched by the Jinan Military Area Command focused on six main items including emergency evacuation, information countermeasures and anti-aircraft artillery protection. The drill is aimed at ensuring preparedness for the defense of Beijing in a potential air raid. [Photo/Xinhua]
