Two water pipelines cracked under heavy rainfall in Linjiang city, China's northeast Jilin province, leaving more than 64,000 residents without tap water for five days.
Since July 31, people have been forced to join long queues to collect water from a makeshift fire pump station. The broken pipeline has taken two days to repair and clean tap water is expected to be restored within the next three days, the local authority said.
