Firefighters compete in national skills contest

A nationwide competition for fire brigades is initiated in North China’s Tianjin municipality,on Aug 23, 2011.The contest, the first of its kind, has attracted about 800 firefighters with advanced fire fighting equipment from 31 regions across the country. Created to showcase the Ministry of Public Security’s initiative aimed at building a modern “iron man” force of fire brigades nationwide, the contest is a test of participants’ fire fighting and rescue skills.[Photo/CFP]
