Friends turn mountain into luscious forest

Eight old friends are reunited at Huamu Mountain, in Luliang county, Qujing city, Yunnan province, where they spent 30 years turning the formerly barren mountain into a green forest, on March 29, 2012. The "eight pals from Luliang" have planted 9,066 hectares of trees in 30 years, starting in 1980. The Luliang People's Hospital is giving them free medical care, and the city government awarded them $8,921 each on Thursday. [Photo/Xinhua] |
