Floods pummel quake-hit county

A nurse and a soldier remove sediment and silt caused by rain-triggered floods and landslides in the quake-hit county of Yiliang in Yunnan province on Sept 11. The heavy downpours, which started early Tuesday and are expected to continue in the coming days, have forced thousands to evacuate. Authorities of the rescue operation have dispatched troops for disaster relief work and people from all circles have also pitched in.
