Ice surface grows in Bohai Sea

Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Administration staffers examine sea ice in the water off Qinhuangdao city on Jan 24, 2013. The National Marine Forecasting Station said the ice in Bohai Sea is expanding. Floating sea ice spans 63 nautical miles in Liaodong Bay, accounting for 57.7 percent of its water surface. The ice spans 19 nautical miles in Bohai Bay, accounting for 34.3 percent of the water surface. The ice trapped more than 8,200 fishing boats in the sea off Hebei province. [Photo/Xinhua]
