Incomplete Buddha sculptures, a result of rock weathering, are seen inside a grotto at Bingling Temple in Yongjing county. The temple has a history of more than 1,600 years and is known as one of China’s top cave temples. It has 216 caves and 815 stone or clay Buddha sculptures that are applying for recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. [Yan Weijue/chinadaily.com.cn]
