Expedition members salute as they say farewell to the public at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Nov 12, 2013. Fifteen policemen and policewomen from Southwest China's Sichuan province kicked off a one-year peacekeeping mission for the United Nations in South Sudan in a departure ceremony held in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan. The mission team consists of police officers with various specialties including criminal investigation and drug enforcement, covering members ranging from post-60s generation to post-80s. They will go for training in North China's Hebei province and Uganda before heading to South Sudan. This is the second time since 2008 that Sichuan has independently participated in a UN mission.
