Paris Hilton, the US socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotel empire, will make her debut in South Korea in March as a model for a sportswear maker, the company has said.
Paris would star in print and TV advertisements for Fila Korea following filming in Los Angeles this month, the company said.
"We have selected Paris as the company's 2007 model as her image as a sexy, fashionable and high-society celebrity matches that of our brand," said Kil Young-Og, spokeswoman for Fila Korea.
She said the company was aware of the stir created by the illicit release on the Internet of a home video of her having sex with a former boyfriend.
"However, Korean customers are much more generous toward foreign stars implicated in scandals than local stars," Kil said.
The company signed a one-year contract with Hilton in late December, which is worth one million dollars, according to Yonhap news agency.
