Liz Hurley issues dress code for Indian wedding
Its strictly turbans for men and pink saris for women at British model-turned-actress Liz Hurley's wedding with her Indian boyfriend Arun Nayar.
The actress is set to marry Nayar in March, with ceremonies in both in Gloucestershire in the UK and Rajasthan in India.
To ensure all guests are properly attired for the Indian celebrations, the couple are opening a 'wedding shop' at the Hilton Towers Hotel in Mumbai, a tabloid reported today.
Friends including soccer star David Beckham and his model wife Victoria and Sir Elton John will be kitted out in traditional dress and asked to look "glamorous and fabulous".
The shop will stock saris, turbans, kurtas and bindis for the guests.
Hurley and Nayar have issued their friends with an 'orientation pack' explaining exactly what they should wear, the report in Metro claimed.
"Please don't panic. All Indian clothes can be bought when you arrive in India, where they will be much nicer," they wrote. The couple are expected to marry at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire on March 3.
That will be followed by two days of partying in Mumbai.
On the first night the dress code is 'glamorous casual' and on the second it is 'very glamorous/black tie'.
The party will then move on to a palace in Rajasthan. Traditional Hindu celebrations including a mehndi ceremony will be part of the function.
The men will amuse themselves by taking part in a cricket match, with the groom's friends playing pals of the bride.
There will also be a formal moonlit dinner and another black tie dinner before the wedding itself on March 9. Guests are told to wear 'glamorous and fabulous evening dresses' in either Indian or Western style for the big day.
