Madonna goes chic-n-cheap

Last year, the singer/actress, in collaboration with H&M, debuted a collection of track suits, an initial stab at the "M" line, that failed to register with consumers.

Uglialoro says the track suits differ from tomorrow's launch in that they weren't an entire collection but a smattering of pieces.

"I think people assumed because it was a designer collaboration we were going to see the same customer reaction, and it just didn't happen that way," she says.

"It was a completely different product launch." While H&M, which recently released lines by Stella McCartney and Karl Lagerfeld, won't release projected sales figures, it says it expects Madonna's new line to do well.

"We always like to surprise our customers with innovative collaborations, and this collection isn't any different," says Uglialoro. "Based on the positive response we've seen, we expect it to do very well."

Sadly, the range isn't available to us down under. But dare we hope Madonna follows in the footsteps of Stella McCartney?
