Lady Gaga: I've been betrayed

Lady Gaga was given her favourite item from Donatella Versace's new collection for free.

The 'Applause' singer was reportedly so enamoured with the Italian designer's crystal-embellished white mesh hood when the look hit the Atelier Versace catwalk in Paris on Sunday night that she begged her close friend to let her keep it.

It is rare for designers to make such a generous offer straight off the catwalk and Gaga is now the only person in the world to own the high fashion piece, Vogue.co.uk is reporting.

Close friends Gaga and Donatella arrived at the Atelier Versace show for Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014 this weekend looking like clones of one another.

Gaga - who is the face of Versace's new campaign - stunned in a floor-length black silk gown, with her platinum blonde locks matching the Italian couturier's own tresses.

The pop star isn't the only source of inspiration for the iconic designer, however, with Donatella citing Britain's Queen Elizabeth as one of her greatest muses.

She told The Sunday Times newspaper: "She is couture. I could put her in the colours in this collection, the lilac, pale pinks and purples, but my dream was to put her in black."
