"We are known for the comfort of our product but not for the fun of our product. But that's now coming," he says.
With more than 700 stores in China, the company is looking to double its presence in the next two to three years with a focus on first- and second-tier cities.
"Seven hundred is a lot in any other country. But in China, it's just the tip of an iceberg. If you look at it, country by country, the United States is still bigger. But the growth in China, compared to the US, is absolutely fantastic. It has the biggest potential in the world. It's going be the first market," Bailly says.
While Crocs shoes are popular in China, copycats are rampant. However, the company doesn't want to be distracted by it.
"If you spend all your energy fighting these problems, you will be distracted and you don't do what is right. And the more you innovate, the more difficult it will be to do copies. I think the people who will try to copy Colorlite are going to have a hard time," he says.
