"Does not every designer ultimately seek to create something timeless?" Ghesquiere says in his letter. "I salute the work of Marc Jacobs, whose legacy I wholeheartedly hope to honor."
After going backstage, guests can walk through the accessories gallery, which displays items designed by Ghesquiere. The designer says he drew inspiration from the brand's classic trunks to create accessories such as small handbags.
"I have always loved creating accessories. For me, they are never disconnected from the collection, they hold an integral place in the creation of an ensemble, either juxtaposing or complementing the outfit. They take on the same intentions and have the same aim as the clothes. A silhouette is a complete look."
The third floor of the building includes a store and cafe lounge, where visitors can buy souvenirs, including items from the Series 1 collection and chat with friends.
The show runs through Sept 26.
