Busting modeling myths
On diet: Most of the models I know are not on a diet, especially not during fashion week. For that kind of workload, one cannot survive if they are on a diet. Many of us are just the eat-what-we-want-without-weight-gain types. But I do work out a lot, from marathons to NTC (Nike training club).
On high heels: Like many girls, I love high heels. After so many years of torture in poorly fitting high heels on the catwalk, I don't think my feet can stand one more minute in high heels off the runway. I guess that's why you see most of the models in sneakers or flats when they are not working.
On the job: Before I became a model, I thought modeling was nothing but dressing up and walking down the catwalk. Some of my friends still think so and consider it the world's easiest job. So last year, I had a friend come with me for one of my regular work days during fashion week. She was not on the catwalk, only observing, and she called it quits before noon.
