The designer, a favorite of first lady Michelle Obama, showcased his runway show in downtown Manhattan.
The 32-year-old, who considers himself a Millennial, said that his work is a reflection of the spirit of his generation.
"We are at an age, we are a buying behemoth. Buying designer clothes, thinking about collecting things that we want to keep forever. We are not so disposable anymore. And I think that mirrors how I design clothes. I don't design clothes that are good for one season, There is something timeless and forever about what I do, not overly trendy. The New York Fashion Week runs through next Thursday, September 17th.
